Living green and saving when gasoline prices increase

Gasoline and oil prices increase, many people choose buses and trains instead of using personal vehicles.

Gasoline and oil prices are high, even at times locally scarce, many people have to drive through several gas stations to get fuel.

The tense war situation in the Middle East has been and is directly affecting the world's oil supply.

Faced with that situation, on March 9, the Government issued Decree 72/2026/ND-CP adjusting preferential import tax on many gasoline and oil items and gasoline and oil production raw materials to 0%.

This policy aims to expand import sources, reduce shortage pressure and contribute to market stability.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam has mobilized about 4 million barrels of oil from partners to ensure immediate supply.

Solutions from the State are necessary. But stabilizing the energy market is not only the job of the Government or businesses, people also need to proactively adapt.

Many people's travel habits have long been quite easy. Cheap gasoline, motorbikes and personal cars have become the main choices. Not to mention, sometimes just a few hundred meters away, they also carry their cars onto the road.

Some people go out just to buy a small item, some people stroll the streets by motorbike instead of walking. Those seemingly small-scale movements, in fact, consume a very large amount of fuel.

Currently, when gasoline prices increase, the most reasonable response is to reduce unnecessary movement.

Stay home reading books, watching TV, spending time with family. Many tasks that can be processed online do not necessarily require travel.

Agencies and businesses should also take advantage of technology. Many meetings can be organized online instead of gathering crowds, both saving costs and reducing fuel consumption.

And at this time, public transport is a necessary choice.

In large cities, the public transport system is becoming more and more complete. Buses and metro are not only means of transportation, but also fuel-saving solutions.

A bus can replace dozens of motorbikes, and a tram can reduce hundreds of private cars on the road.

If the distance is close, walking or cycling is also a suitable option. This method not only saves gas money, but also improves health.

Many people change their travel habits, the benefits do not stop at reducing spending. Pressure on fuel supply decreases, traffic congestion decreases, and air pollution also decreases accordingly.

Cities will have less smoke and noise. From there, the quality of life will be improved.

A small change in each individual's behavior can have a major impact on society, that's why.

It's time to change your travel habits, save fuel and live greener.
