On February 1st, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health mobilized specialist doctors from major leading hospitals of the city to work in the Con Dao special zone. This is the 7th phase of the rotational program for doctors to participate in supporting medical examination and treatment activities at the Con Dao Military-Civilian Medical Center.
In this phase, doctors with expertise in fields including Cardiology, General Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedic Trauma, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics came to strengthen work in the Con Dao special zone from February 1st to March 2nd. Doctors will directly participate in medical examination, treatment, surgery, professional consultation, technical transfer, and at the same time coordinate to foster and improve professional qualifications for doctors and medical staff in the locality.
This rotation phase takes place during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 - the period when the demand for medical examination and treatment of people and tourists in Con Dao is expected to increase. The arrangement of a team of specialist doctors to work throughout Tet shows the deep concern of the Ho Chi Minh City Health sector in ensuring medical, emergency and treatment work in a specialized area, far from the mainland.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the doctor rotation program working in the Con Dao special zone has been continuously implemented from September 2025 to now, which has made an important contribution to improving the quality of healthcare for the people of Con Dao, significantly reducing the situation of transferring patients to the mainland, saving costs and time for patients and improving professional capacity for the on-site medical team.
