On February 28, Binh Dan Hospital (HCMC) held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Surgery Journey, receive the Second-class Labor Medal and inaugurate the central building.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Vinh Hung - Director of Binh Dan Hospital said that this is a special milestone, marking the 7-decade journey of dedication to patients.

In the next 5 years, Binh Dan Hospital determines to focus on key orientations such as building smart hospitals, promoting comprehensive digital transformation, and applying technology.
At the same time, establishing the Center for Surgery and Robot Training, contributing to bringing high technology closer to patients.
After 9 years of pioneering robot surgery, Binh Dan Hospital aims to become a robot surgery training center for doctors in Ho Chi Minh City, provinces and cities across the country and the region, contributing to bringing high technology closer to patients.
In addition, continue to develop high-quality human resources and expand international cooperation.

On the same day, the hospital also inaugurated the central building, the project started construction in October 2021 and went into basic operation from February 2025.
With a total investment of more than 340 billion VND, the central building includes 8 above-ground floors and 2 basements on a total floor area of 20,000 m2.

At the end of 2016, Binh Dan Hospital became the first hospital in Vietnam to perform robot-assisted surgery on adults.
The first surgery was to remove a colorectal tumor for a 64-year-old male patient from Quang Ngai.
A prominent highlight is the field of robotic surgery with more than 740 cases in 2025, bringing the total number of cumulative cases from 2016 to more than 3,800 cases.
This achievement continues to affirm Binh Dan Hospital's pioneering position in applying high technology and robot surgery for adults in Vietnam.
