No professional errors recorded
On the afternoon of February 15, Ca Mau General Hospital reported to the Ca Mau Department of Health regarding the case of patient T.T. Y (84 years old, residing in Bung Binh 2 hamlet, Hoa Thanh ward) who died one day after being hospitalized.
According to the report, the hospital has organized a Professional Council meeting including leaders of departments and rooms to review the entire process of receiving, treating and emergency care for patients.

The professional council determined that the patient was admitted to the hospital in very serious condition, diagnosed with septic shock from soft tissue skin infection, accompanied by Cushing's syndrome due to drugs and many complex underlying diseases.
During the treatment process, the medical team implemented measures in accordance with professional procedures such as using antibiotics, fluid replenishment, electrolyte balance and active cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The medical record was fully recorded, with monitoring of developments and medical orders.
The professional council concluded that no errors were recorded in the examination, treatment and emergency care of patients.
Proposal to handle misinformation
Regarding the reflection that medical staff are indifferent and use phones when family members report that the patient is in serious condition, the hospital said that doctors and nurses were present in time for examination and treatment.
According to verification, the information that medical staff "surfed Facebook" is inaccurate; in fact, the staff is performing the operation of entering professional records on the computer system. There is no evidence that handling is slow when the patient progresses seriously.
The hospital believes that the fact that patients' families broadcast live emergency scenes with unverified content has put psychological pressure on the team of doctors and nurses, affecting the reputation of the health sector. Therefore, the hospital proposed that the Department of Health direct and coordinate with functional agencies to review and handle false information according to legal regulations and orient official information for public opinion.
Previously, Facebook account L.D, believed to be the child of patient T.T. Y, livestreamed emergency scenes and expressed outrage, claiming that the doctor did not agree to transfer him to another hospital, leading to the patient's death.
