From January 1, 2026, Gia Dinh People's Hospital officially operates with 2 grade I medical examination and treatment facilities, of the same specialized level, under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health.
Putting facility 2 into operation creates conditions to expand the scale, develop expertise and improve access to high-quality medical services for people and tourists right in the city center.
Facility 2 deploys 5 departments, including: Emergency Resuscitation, General Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Clinical Examination 2 and Clinical Near-Clinique.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital shared: "Campus 2 will become an outpatient emergency center, receiving and specializing in intervention of Ho Chi Minh City, ready to coordinate with the main facility to optimize the opportunity to save patients. This facility focuses on developing an emergency system, resuscitation and outpatient emergency models using specialized 2-wheeled ambulances to quickly meet the health care needs of people, tourists and neighboring provinces. Thanks to strict operating procedures and coordination with leading specialties at the main facility, the emergency system here has contributed to saving many critical cases, becoming one of the 3 effective satellite stations of the 115 Emergency Center and the first unit in the country to pilot the 2-wheeled ambulance model. In addition, Facility 2 has deployed vaccination rooms and essential services, meeting the comprehensive and modern health care needs of people.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health affirmed that putting Gia Dinh People's Hospital facility 2 into operation not only contributes to increasing the city's specialized outpatient emergency capacity but also improves the quality of medical examination and treatment for foreigners in the context that Ho Chi Minh City is strongly developing tourism and international activities. This event contributes to completing the urban health network, improving response capacity in crowded situations and disaster relief, and at the same time opening up directions for developing healthcare according to international standards right in the city center.
