On January 12, at the National Convention Center, the Ministry of Health organized a medical work drill to serve the 14th National Party Congress.
Speaking at the drill, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council, Head of the Health Sub-committee serving the 14th National Congress emphasized: The 14th National Congress of the Party is a major political event of profound historical significance, marking a turning point and opening a new era of development for the country.
Ensuring health work – from disease prevention and control, food safety to emergency care, medical examination and treatment for delegates and guests – is both an honor and a great responsibility of the entire health sector," the Deputy Minister of Health affirmed.

Immediately after being assigned the task, the Ministry of Health closely coordinated with the Central Organization Committee, the Organizing Subcommittee serving the 14th Congress, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense and related units to synchronously deploy the contents of ensuring health services serving the Congress.
According to the Ministry of Health, the Health Sub-committee and the Professional Council on medical examination and treatment serving the Congress have been established; medical teams are arranged to be on regular duty at the National Convention Center and hotels where delegates and guests stay.
At the National Convention Center, the health sector has established a modern intensive care unit like a miniature ICU unit, along with two emergency rooms - medical examination and treatment, fully equipped with ambulances, automatic pacemakers, vibrators, ventilators, artificial heart and lung system, mobile X-rays, bedside ultrasounds, rapid testing machines, medicine and essential medical supplies.

In particular, the Intensive Care Unit is connected to online consultations with the Health Sub-committee and leading hospitals such as Bach Mai, Huu Nghi Viet Duc, Central Military 108, Huu Nghi.
Regarding human resources, the Ministry of Health mobilized a team of highly qualified doctors and nurses from hospitals under the Ministry, Hanoi Department of Health and the Professional Council including leading professors in internal medicine, surgery, emergency resuscitation, cardiology, neurology, tropical diseases... to participate in duty throughout the Congress.
The exercise theme was selected by the Professional Council to be close to reality, including 4 typical emergency situations. In which, Bach Mai Hospital is responsible for practicing 3 situations: circulatory arrest, myocardial infarction, stroke; Viet Duc Friendship Hospital performs multiple trauma emergency situations. Friendship Hospital and Central Military Hospital 108 coordinate to implement.
In parallel with emergency work, the Hanoi Department of Health has directed health units in the area to proactively monitor epidemics, arrange on-duty medical teams, and be ready to coordinate with the Ministry of Health to promptly handle any arising situations.
Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the serious and methodical preparation of participating units; and requested to continue reviewing all assigned tasks with the motto "prepare maximum conditions but hope to use them minimally".
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of coordination, information connection, ensuring smooth direction and administration; all situations arising during the Congress will be decided by the Professional Council.

According to the plan, on January 13, health teams will participate in preliminary work at the National Convention Center, complete all contents, and be ready for the 14th National Party Congress.
