The Department of Drug Administration - Ministry of Health has sent a document to the Departments of Health of provinces, cities and drug manufacturing and importing establishments, requesting them to proactively reserve and provide enough drugs for disease treatment and prevention during the rainy and stormy season in 2025.
The document clearly stated that ensuring drug sources is to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and be ready to respond to medical situations during the flood season, especially epidemics that are prone to outbreak such as dengue fever, diarrhea, pain in the eyes, skin diseases, etc.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam recommends that local Departments of Health direct businesses, units producing, trading, and importing drugs to plan the timely storage and supply of essential drugs. Medical examination and treatment facilities need to proactively develop a suitable drug list, promptly purchase and supplement to serve treatment and epidemic prevention when natural disasters and epidemics occur.
In case there is a risk of drug shortage, the Department of Health must promptly report to the Ministry of Health for a handling plan. For drugs that do not have a circulation registration certificate but are necessary for epidemic prevention, the Drug Administration will prioritize consideration and resolution according to regulations.
Units facing difficulties in supply can contact the Drug Administration for guidance.
