Speaking at the event, BS CKII Nguyen Dang Dung - Director of DND International Eye Hospital System said that updating new technology needs to go hand in hand with standardizing clinical practice and professional training.
DND always orients towards building a comprehensive treatment system, focusing on the visual quality and sustainable treatment effectiveness of patients," Dr. Dung shared.

One of the topics receiving much attention is "Clinical evidence in choosing refractive error surgery methods" presented by Dr. Dang Thi Nhu Quynh.
Through clinical monitoring and analysis data, the report shows that each refractive surgery method - from scattering techniques to non-scattering methods - has its own advantages when correctly indicated for each patient. From these research results, the orientation for choosing the optimal method is built on corneal characteristics, refractiveness, visual needs and individual expectations of patients.
The report also emphasized the treatment viewpoint at the DND International Eye Hospital system: not biased towards any technology or refractive surgery method, but towards comprehensive personalization, combining the clinical experience of doctors with long-term monitoring data to bring sustainable visual quality to each patient.

Continuing this series of contents, the special topic "Expanding the limits of nevus surgery: SMILE Pro on patients with low myopia" presented by Dr. Bui Quang Tuan - Director of DND Saigon International Eye Hospital focuses on applying new generation laser technology to expand surgical indications for patients who were previously not considered optimal subjects for refractive surgery.
The study was performed on 98 patients at DND International Eye Hospital - Saigon, monitoring vision results and refractive stability for 6 months after surgery using the VISUMAX 800 system.
Research results show that SMILE Pro achieves superior vision effectiveness with 93.9% of patients achieving vision equal to or better than before surgery, 92% of patients achieving vision 20/20 or better, and 100% of cases within a refractive error of ±0.50D compared to the treatment objective. At the same time, the method also demonstrates high safety when complications are not recorded during surgery, the ability to accurately control astigmatism and maintain good vision stability during postoperative monitoring. The report emphasizes the role of the new generation SMILE Pro technology with super-fast laser firing time, accurate focusing ability, and optimal lenticular dissection technique, helping to overcome the inherent challenges when treating low-level nearsightedness.
Another content that received much attention was the report "Clinical experience with the first 1,200 SmartSight NOVA cases" which brought a practical perspective on one of the new generation of non-barbed surgery platforms.
The report focuses on analyzing clinical data on a large number of patients operated on using the SmartSight NOVA system, thereby comprehensively assessing the effectiveness of vision, safety, postoperative recovery capacity as well as patient satisfaction in actual clinical practice conditions.

Initial results show that SmartSight NOVA not only ensures high refractive accuracy and stable vision, but also optimizes post-operative experience thanks to fast operating time, reducing impact on the corneal surface and supporting a gentler vision recovery process. The report contributes to affirming the goal of optimizing the quality of vision and personalized treatment experience for each patient.
In addition to the topics on refractive surgery, the conference also updated many in-depth contents related to the treatment of presbyopia, cataract surgery, retinal diseases and prevention of post-operative intraocular infections.
According to the hospital representative, the conference is not only a forum for academic exchange but also contributes to promoting professional cooperation between ophthalmology centers at home and abroad.
The event takes place on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the DND International Eye Hospital System. To express gratitude to customers who have accompanied the system, DND International Eye Hospital implements the preferential program:
Support up to 40% of refractive surgery costs using the most modern methods.
