On August 21, Mr. Do Van Hung - Director of the Department of Health of Quang Tri province said that the unit had inspected the compliance with legal regulations at a number of facilities providing medical examination and treatment services; cosmetic services ; trading in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and functional foods in Quang Tri province.
Through inspection, in general, basic establishments comply well with business conditions, ensuring consumer rights and food safety.
However, violations were detected such as trading in goods of unknown origin; violating regulations on prohibited acts in advertising activities; buying and selling imported goods with original labels in foreign languages but no secondary labels in Vietnamese; Drug retail establishments do not list wholesale prices...
Accordingly, four violating establishments were fined with a total administrative fine and value of destroyed goods of more than 33 million VND.
For example, Gang Nam International Cosmetic Facility in Quang Tri (address 58, National Highway 9, Ward 1, Dong Ha City) advertises using the words "best", "unique", “best”, “number one” or words with similar meanings without legal documents proving according to regulations. Based on the provisions of law, this cosmetic facility was fined 15 million VND.
“The inspection team, in close coordination with Department PC03 of Quang Tri Provincial Police and the local medical management agency, has increased efficiency in the process of implementing its tasks. In the coming time, the Department of Health will direct specialized agencies to continue inspecting and ensuring compliance with legal regulations at facilities providing medical examination, treatment, and cosmetic services in the area." – Mr. Do Van Hung said.
