On June 8, Binh Duong General Hospital (Phu Loi ward, Ho Chi Minh City) provided emergency care for a patient who was stabbed multiple times in the neck and was hospitalized in critical condition.
That is the case of Ms. M.K.T (born in 1982, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) who was brought to the hospital in critical condition due to being stabbed many times with a sharp object, causing multiple serious wounds in the neck and face. The patient fell into a state of acute blood loss shock, unstable hemodynamics.
Faced with the emergency situation, the team of the Emergency Resuscitation Department quickly deployed active resuscitation measures: controlling airways, supporting breathing, emergency transfusing 2 units of blood, temporarily stopping bleeding on the spot to maintain basic vital signs, preparing for a deep intervention step.
Through inter-specialized consultation and quick clinical examination, doctors determined that this was a complex injury case with many deep wounds in critical locations. In the neck and left jaw area, the patient had a deep wound with massive bleeding, exposing the lower jawbone. Notably, the injury is located close to the carotid artery, the blood vessel system that nourishes the brain, just a small deviation, the risk of death is very high.
In the anterior neck area, the laryngeal wounds directly threaten the airway, a vital factor for the patient.
Doctors performed dissection surgery, controlled bleeding points and treated complex soft tissue lesions. At the same time, important structures such as neck blood vessels and patient's airways were safely protected. Open wounds were all cosmetically resuscitated. After intervention, the patient's condition stabilized. Currently, the patient is being closely monitored and actively treated at the hospital.
