The success of complex surgeries, some lasting all night, contributes to bringing people confidence in the health system that has been strengthened on remote islands.
Previously, on the night of October 21, the Con Dao Military-Civilian Medical Center (TTYT) received two patients in critical condition that threatened their lives if they were not treated actively in time. The first case was a 42-year-old female patient with a duodenal perforation due to fish bones, who was urgently operated on by a team of doctors from the hospitals of Binh Dan, Hung Vuong and Con Dao Health Center to remove the foreign object and save the patient's life.
The second case was a 67-year-old male patient with peritoneal inflammation due to duodenal rush (old surgical scar), admitted to the hospital in a state of shock and severe anemia. After consultation, the head of the Department of Gastroenterology, Binh Dan Hospital, quickly went to Con Dao to coordinate with the doctors present to conduct surgery. After a long surgery, the patient regained consciousness and passed the critical stage.
