On October 15, information from the People's Committee of Con Dao Special Zone said that a drowning tourist had been given first aid by local people and had been given timely first aid. His health has now stabilized.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 14, at the Con Son Bay beach area, in front of Hotel S in Con Dao special park, a female tourist unfortunately drowned, a rather dangerous condition.
Discovering the incident, former Major Vu Quang Van (former general practitioner at the Quang Ngai Command Hospital, Region 6 - who retired from September 1) promptly arrived to conduct first aid and save the victim's life.
The victim was identified as D.T.H (born in 1967, residing in Ninh Binh) who had just arrived at the Con Dao Special Tourist Area at noon on October 14. In the afternoon, Ms. H went to the beach opposite the hotel to swim when she unfortunately encountered a dangerous incident.
Some witnesses said that the female tourist called for help and showed signs of fatigue and drowning. Seeing that, former Major Vu Quang Van who was swimming near this area quickly approached and brought the victim to shore. After that, he coordinated with Dr. Nguyen Ha Thao Vy (currently working in Con Dao special area) to perform artificial breathing, extra- chest coronary contractions, helping visitors wake up. After initial first aid, the female tourist was taken to the Con Dao Special Forces Medical Center for further care and monitoring, and her health has stabilized.
The authorities also warn tourists when swimming at Con Son beach to note: do not go too far from the shore; limit swimming alone or without any observers; always observe and quickly return to shore when there are signs of high tides; do not swim too far out of the safe area...
