The Vietnam Film Association launched the 2025 Kite Awards, but also sent a notice about the possibility that the winning works and individuals this year may not receive bonuses because the Association is facing difficulties.
Speaking to Lao Dong reporter, a representative of the Vietnam Cinema Association said that the prize issue of this year's Kite Awards is in the general context of annual awards under the Literature and Arts Association.
According to the regulations, the winning categories of the Canh Dieu Award are awarded trophies, certificates and bonuses. However, according to the new requirements for the common spending norms for all cultural and artistic awards, the categories must apply a unified level. This regulation is considered "difficult to implement" because each field has its own characteristics and competition structure.
According to the representative of the Vietnam Cinema Association, the general spending norms here are understood to be for all fields of culture and arts. That is, any award is the same as any award and there must be a common spending standard, type A, B, C is how much. But that is a difficult problem.
"It is October now, if the problem is not resolved, this year's Canh Dieu award may not have bonuses. I think this is not only an issue for the Cinema Association but for all member associations of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association. Although the prize money is not much, if there is, it will encourage the artistic work of artists. Because we highly respect the efforts of artists, we want to announce it early so that they can prepare mentally when participating in the competition," said a representative of the Association.
The Canh Dieu Awards 2025 continue to promote films and TV series with creative impressions, strong national identity, rich in human values and having a positive impact on social life.
This year's award structure remains the same as last year, including the categories: Golden Kite, Silver Kite and Certificate of Merit, awarding the best works in the categories: feature films, TV series, documentaries, feature films, feature films, short films and research works, theories - criticism of cinema, television.
In addition to the collective award, the organizing committee also awarded individual awards to directors, screenwriters, filmmakers, musicians, and sound engineers, along with Best Actor - Best Actor and Supporting Actress in each category.
2025 is predicted to be a vibrant season when Vietnamese cinema records a breakthrough in both quantity and quality of works.
In the feature film category, the "race" to win the Golden Kite Cup promises many dramatic scenes with the participation of a series of "heavyweight" candidates such as "Red Rain", "Detective Kien: The Unheard Project", "The Four Guardians", "The Four Guardians", "The billion-dollar kiss", "Flip Side 8: Sun Rings" and "The Geography: The Sun in the Dark".
