Health insurance participants can change the initial registration place for medical examination and treatment on the first 15 days of each quarter. The procedure is carried out free of charge, helping people choose medical examination and treatment (MET) facilities that are more suitable for their place of residence, work or study.
Only allowed to change places for medical examination and treatment at the beginning of each quarter
Vietnam Social Security (BHXH) said that health insurance participants are allowed to change the initial registration place for medical examination and treatment (KCB) within the first 15 days of each quarter.
The implementation time is from January 1 to January 15 of January, April, July and October every year.
People can choose health insurance medical examination and treatment facilities under the initial level of medical examination and treatment, prioritizing places close to their residence, work or study. However, the chosen facility must be in accordance with regulations and still have the ability to receive health insurance cards.
For basic and specialized level medical examination and treatment facilities, initial medical examination and treatment registration is carried out in order of priority for each group of subjects according to the provisions of Circular 01/2025/TT-BYT.
Vietnam Social Security noted that the number of registered people at each establishment is allocated based on the needs, reception capacity of the establishment and actual conditions in each locality. Therefore, not all medical facilities can receive additional health insurance cards.
Can change places to register for health insurance online
For employees participating in compulsory social insurance and health insurance, people can declare the Declaration Form for registration and adjustment of social insurance and health insurance participation information (Form TK1-TS).
Dossiers can be submitted directly to the social insurance agency or sent via postal services. In addition, participants can carry out online procedures on the Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal.
The implementation steps include:
Step 1: Access the Vietnam Social Security Public Service Portal at dichvucong. baohiemxahoi. gov. vn and log in using the method supported by the system.
Step 2: Select the procedure "Re-issuance, exchange of health insurance card due to change of time for 5 consecutive years, initial medical examination and treatment place", procedure code 612b.
Step 3: Enter the new original KCB location. The system will display a list of KCB facilities for participants to choose from.
Step 4: Check the information, send the file and track the processing results on the system.
Changing the initial registration place for medical examination and treatment does not have to be done at any time. People need to pay attention to the first 15 days of January, April, July or October to avoid missing the registration time.
Vietnam Social Security also recommends that participants consider choosing a medical facility that is convenient for travel and suitable for the facility's reception capacity.
