On September 7, the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC) informed that in the past week, the situation of some infectious diseases in the area has had noteworthy developments. Among them, dengue fever continues to be a disease requiring special attention with 521 new cases, a decrease of 79 cases compared to week 34 (600 cases). However, the number of infections is still at a very high level.
The areas recording the highest number of dengue fever cases in the week include Buon Ma Thuot with 167 cases, Ea H'leo 84 cases and Cu M'gar 58 cases.
The number of cases is also concentrated in Cu Kuin, Ea Kar, Ea Sup, Krong Ana, Krong Bong, Krong Buk, Krong Pac, Buon Ho and Song Hinh.
Faced with the increasing trend of dengue fever in the province, the Dak Lak Health sector is strengthening supervision and updating the epidemic situation daily. At the same time, proactively implementing prevention and control measures, especially at educational institutions when the 2026 - 2027 school year has just begun.
According to the Department of Health of Dak Lak province, commune and ward health stations must update dengue fever data daily, completing it before 11 am, including Saturdays and Sundays, in order to limit the situation of late reporting, omissions or duplicate cases.
Mr. Hoang Hai Phuc - Director of Dak Lak Provincial CDC - informed that, along with controlling the situation in the community, the work of preventing and combating infectious diseases in schools is also particularly focused on by the health sector in the new school year.
The Provincial CDC requested the Health Stations to closely coordinate with educational institutions, inspect and guide epidemic prevention and hygiene work; and at the same time strengthen supervision, early detection of cases and timely handling when cases or outbreaks appear in schools.
Mr. Nay Phi La - Director of Dak Lak Department of Health - said that the unit requests health centers to proactively provide professional support to grassroots levels, inspect and urge epidemic prevention and control work in schools; and at the same time ensure chemicals, supplies and medical equipment ready to support localities when epidemics exceed control.
People's Committees of communes and wards are requested to direct departments, branches, and mass organizations to coordinate with Health Stations and schools; mobilize resources to serve epidemic prevention and control, strengthen inspection and supervision, especially at childcare groups and private kindergartens.
