Long An General Hospital (Tay Ninh) has just received patient D. T. T. (15 years old, from Phung Hiep commune, Can Tho city; temporarily residing in Ben Luc area) in a state of acute abdominal pain after an incident related to a high-pressure compressed air hose at the factory.
According to initial information, while working at the workshop, a colleague put a compressed air hose inside T.'s pants, near the anus area, to joke around.

After the incident, T. developed severe abdominal pain and abnormal health symptoms. The patient was transferred to Long An General Hospital on the evening of August 12.
Immediately after receiving them, doctors quickly examined them, performed paraclinical tests, abdominal CT scans and consultations.
The results showed that the patient had fluid in the abdominal cavity, dilated colon, acute peritonitis accompanied by secondary appendicitis due to fecal obstruction. Doctors determined that this was a condition that needed timely surgical treatment to limit the risk of severe progression.
On the morning of August 13, the team of the General Surgery Department performed endoscopic exploration surgery and appendicitis removal under endotracheal anesthesia. Doctors simultaneously checked, treated the lesions and drained inflammatory fluid in the abdominal cavity. The surgery went smoothly.
After surgery, doctors determined that the patient had acute colon damage due to pressure pumped from the anus, causing the colon to dilate excessively, causing tears in many places in the laryngeal layer, leading to bleeding and acute peritonitis. The pressure of air simultaneously pushed feces into the appendix, causing obstruction and secondary inflammation.
By August 19, the patient's health was stable, vital signs were stable, the abdomen was soft, the surgical wound was dry and was discharged at 10 am on August 20.
From this case, doctors recommend that actions that seem like just a joke at work can still cause serious consequences for health and life.
