On September 21, information from the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health said that to solve the shortage of doctors at commune and ward health stations in the area in the immediate future, the province has issued a plan to rotate doctors to work at commune health stations for a limited time.
According to the 2026 plan, the whole province has 135 commune and ward health stations with 369 station points. However, there are still 76 station points without doctors; 4 health stations without doctors include Thong Nhat Ward Health Station, Hoi Phu Ward Health Station, Ia Grai Commune Health Station and Cho Long Commune Health Station.
Through review, 74/135 health stations proposed to increase doctors, with a need of 146 people.
In 2026, the province is expected to rotate 38 doctors to support 30 communes and wards in need. The arrangement is implemented according to the principle of the right person, right expertise, right area and does not greatly affect the regular professional activities of the unit assigning doctors.
This is not only a short-term solution to supplement human resources but also creates conditions to improve professional capacity for grassroots levels, helping people in difficult areas access medical services right in their localities.
At the same time, this also limits the situation of out-of-level medical examination, treatment, and overload for upper-level healthcare.
