At Izmail port, Russian forces hit port infrastructure used to unload and store military goods, according to the announcement.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also said that another bulk cargo ship, transporting goods serving the Ukrainian armed forces to the port of Odessa, was also hit while moving at sea.
Thus, according to information released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the attacks targeted both onshore logistics facilities at Ukrainian ports and cargo ships at sea.
The port of Odessa is located on the Black Sea coast and is one of Ukraine's important maritime hubs. Meanwhile, Izmail is an important port of Ukraine on the Danube River, near the Romanian border. Danube ports play a larger role in Ukraine's freight transport operations after the conflict disrupted operations at many other seaports.
