At the hospital, there are currently many cancer patients in difficult circumstances undergoing cancer treatment but suffering additional consequences and losses caused by storm number 3.
At K Hospital, there are currently 115 patients being treated, all of whom are from households living in damaged and flooded areas, with their houses, fields, and properties in their hometowns all damaged or lost after the super storm and flash floods.
On the afternoon of September 10, Prof. Dr. Le Van Quang, Director of K Hospital and the hospital's Board of Directors visited, encouraged and gave gifts and 1.5 million VND in cash/patient to share with 115 cases of patients from households affected by storms.
At the gift-giving ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Van Quang shared: "During this time, for patients who need to ensure safety and cannot return home due to the complicated storms and floods, the Hospital has arranged free accommodation, daily meals and essential necessities for patients to feel secure in staying at the hospital. The Hospital also hopes that patients and their families will feel secure and put their trust in the hospital and medical staff, because with a sense of responsibility and love, we will not leave anyone behind."
In addition, from September 10, all patients and their families will be able to use free accommodation, which will help patients and their families feel more secure during their treatment days at the hospital.
Ms. Nguyen Thi H, 32 years old from Bac Giang, who is being treated for cervical cancer at the Department of Gynecology and Surgery, emotionally shared: “My family is near-poor, I am a single mother raising 2 young children. The flood caused all the trees to fall, the roof of the level 4 house collapsed and 4 sao of rice fields were flooded. I was treated at the hospital and had to send my children to my elderly parents to help take care of them. Hearing about the storm and flood, I was very worried. Long-term treatment would cost a lot, and now that the house is completely damaged, I am even more worried. Today, the hospital's Board of Directors gave me gifts, cash support, and daily meals and porridge, I feel much more secure, saving money so that when the water recedes, I can go back to my hometown to repair it as much as possible.”
On the morning of September 11, K Hospital will launch the program "Joining hands to support people affected by storm No. 3" with the consensus of nearly 2,000 medical staff and hospital workers.
