According to the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID-19 cases is increasing in some countries in the region. In Vietnam, since the beginning of the year, 148 cases have been recorded in 27 provinces and cities, with no deaths, but the number of cases has tended to increase slightly in the past 3 weeks.
In response to this development, the Hue City Department of Health requested affiliated units and medical facilities to strengthen epidemic supervision and monitoring; promptly deploy epidemic prevention and control measures in the community and medical facilities; absolutely do not be negligent or subjective.
The local health sector is also directed to strictly implement Plan 22 dated January 17, 2024 on sustainable control and management of the COVID-19 epidemic for the period 2024 - 2025; coordinate with the Pasteur Nha Trang Institute to assess risks and collect samples to monitor viral variants.
The Department of Health proposes to strengthen communication on epidemic prevention, provide guidance on personal protection measures at tourist and public places; train grassroots health workers; ensure adequate medicine, supplies, and human resources for epidemic prevention.
For medical examination and treatment facilities, it is required to proactively review and update admission and treatment plans; prepare facilities, quarantine areas, medical equipment; ensure safety for high-risk groups and limit infection in hospitals.
