Challenges for Hanoi Police
The Hanoi Police Club played better than Buriram United in the final round of the C1 Cup in Southeast Asia on Hang Day yard. However, coach Mano Polking's teachers and students lost their advantages when the opponent equalized 2-2 before the match closed. The grit in the play of the Vietnamese representative comes from the fact that the attack misses too many opportunities, while the defenders lack the necessary cover for goalkeeper Nguyen Filip.
This led to the V.League representative only scoring 2 goals despite having faced the goalkeeper Chatchai Budprom on Buriram United's side 5 times. On the other hand, Nguyen Filip had a pretty good match with 5 impressive saves against the visitors' blows. However, the lack of concentration of the defense caused Hanoi Police to pay a heavy price with 2 goals conceded.
The 2-2 draw at Hang Day Stadium can be considered a disadvantage for Hanoi Police. Because in the second leg of the final, the Vietnamese representative will have to visit Buriram United in Thailand.
It should be added that in all competitions from the beginning of 2025 to now, Buriram has only lost 2 home matches, with the remaining 12 wins and 1 draw. More impressively, 7 out of the 12 matches mentioned above.
High mountains measure courage
Buriram United's form is somewhat better than Hanoi Police. In the past month, the Thai representative won 4 matches and drew 2 matches. Most recently, despite only using a reserve team, the new Thai League champion still crushed the home team Nongbua Pitchaya with a score of 7-0. On the other side, Hanoi Police are also unbeaten in 8 matches, but in the last 2 matches, Mr. Mano Polking and his team only had a draw.
In addition to the strength and home advantage of Buriram United, Hanoi Police Club will have to face another challenge. That is the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic in Thailand.
A positive point for Hanoi Police is that coach Mano Polking is having the best cards. In attack, he has the services of Leo Artur, Alan, Thaileon, Van Duc and Quang Hai. In defense, Hugo Gomes, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Vu Van Thanh, Nguyen Filip are in good physical condition and ready to enter the final.
Noting from the last training session in Thailand, Mr. Polking was satisfied when the strikers practice well in finishing exercises. Sites from afar, taking advantage of the two balls or coordinating close to the goal, the Hanoi police player strictly complied with the requirements from the coaching staff. The representative of Vietnam also had a plan to block some of the "detonators" of Buriram United. The final round of the Southeast Asian Cup Cup will be a standard measure for the bravery, class and level of the Hanoi Police. A victory not only helps this team have more titles, but Vietnamese football is also proud to once again defeat Thailand in the regional arena.
The match between Hanoi Police and Buriram United will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 21 at Chang Arena Stadium (Thailand).
