According to the People's Committee of Hai Ha district, this afternoon (May 21), at around 4:30 p.m. at Hai An dam, Quang Thanh commune, 7 students were swimming in a stream when they were suddenly swept away by the flood. People promptly rescued the 3 children.
As soon as the incident occurred, Hai Ha district mobilized hundreds of people including police, soldiers, militia and people to search. At 6:30 p.m., the authorities found a child and took him to the Hai Ha District Medical Center for emergency treatment, but he died.
At around 8:35 p.m., the authorities found another victim's body
Currently, the authorities are focusing on searching for the two missing victims.
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province - arrived at the scene to direct the search and rescue work.
