The delegation led by Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, together with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Xanh Pon Hospital, National Children’s Hospital, etc., implemented a program to provide free medical examinations, medicine distribution and gifts to people in Muong Chieng Commune, Da Bac District, Hoa Binh Province. This is one of the communes severely affected by Typhoon Yagi.
Within the framework of the program, more than 1,000 local people received free medical examinations and screening tests with the following categories: general internal examination, specialized examination of gastroenterology and dermatology, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, basic blood tests, and free medicine.
In addition, National Children's Hospital also organized a team of doctors to examine more than 200 children in the commune with meaningful gifts such as teddy bears, school bags, notebooks, children's milk and many nutritious foods for children.
Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan directly visited and shared the loss of Mr. Xa Van Xom's family (Cham hamlet, Tan Minh commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province) whose entire solid house was buried by a landslide, killing 4 people. Here, the Deputy Minister presented 20 million VND to encourage the family to overcome difficulties and overcome the consequences of the storm and flood to stabilize their lives.
Organizing community health screening and care programs not only helps health workers and people quickly stabilize and overcome the consequences of storms and floods, but also creates conditions for people, especially those in difficult circumstances, to access quality health services. This is a meaningful activity, contributing to improving the quality of life for people in Hoa Binh province in particular and the whole country in general, while spreading the spirit of mutual love and solidarity in the community.
Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan said that, implementing the direction of the Politburo and the Prime Minister on urgently overcoming the consequences of Typhoon Yagi, the Ministry of Health has deployed many practical activities with the Party and people nationwide to overcome the consequences of the storm, helping people to soon stabilize their lives. This activity not only demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the nation, the depth of medical ethics of the medical force, but also through practical activities, supports people to access high-quality healthcare, increases resilience and sustainable development, for a healthy Vietnam that leaves no one behind.
