Brazenly soliciting patients in front of the gate of the Central Eye Hospital

The situation of "brokers" examining patients around the Central Eye Hospital is still complicated, many patients, especially people from distant provinces, are easily attracted.

Medical examination brokers surround the hospital gate

Early in the morning at the gate of the Central Eye Hospital (85 Ba Trieu, Hanoi), many subjects stood scattered on the sidewalk, continuously approaching people who had just gotten out of their cars or were looking for ways to check in.

Quick examination without waiting", "good doctor for private examination", "file documents right away"... are familiar invitations. Just seeing patients confused, especially the elderly or first-time visitors to Hanoi, the subjects immediately approach and guide them like hospital staff.

A patient from Ninh Binh said that as soon as she got off the taxi, she was invited by a middle-aged woman to complete the "quick examination" procedure. Believing her, this person paid 300,000 VND including examination fees, medical record book and service fees. However, after receiving the serial number, the patient still had to wait like other people.

When requesting a refund because she was not examined quickly as committed, the woman initially refused. Only after a dispute occurred, the patient was refunded a portion of the money she had paid.

According to records, in addition to brokering procedures, some "brokers" also find ways to take patients to private clinics around the hospital. These facilities are often advertised as having leading doctors, fast examination, and modern equipment, but patients may have to pay much higher costs than regular examination at public hospitals.

Warning about touts and scams in front of the gate of the Central Eye Hospital

On June 24, the Central Eye Hospital just issued an urgent notice, warning people about the situation of many touts and brokers operating in front of the hospital gate at No. 85 Ba Trieu, Hai Ba Trung ward, Hanoi.

The Central Eye Hospital affirms that the medical examination and treatment process at the hospital is simple, fast and convenient. People do not need to go through any individual or intermediary service to register for medical examination.

Regarding medical examination costs, the hospital said that the required examination fee is currently 300,000 VND/visit; specialist examination is 500,000 VND/visit; in-depth examination or out-of-office examination is priced at 350,000 VND/visit.

Notably, the hospital currently does not use medical records in the medical examination and treatment process. Therefore, people should absolutely not buy medical records or any kind of papers from people claiming to be support staff outside the hospital gate.

The hospital also recommends that people not hand over cash, personal papers or citizen identification cards to strangers. When coming for examination, patients should quickly move inside the hospital grounds to be guided by the official staff of the hospital. Hospital staff all wear job title cards and uniforms with the hospital's identification logo.

To make medical examination convenient and time-saving, the hospital guides people to register directly at the reception area to get an order number and complete medical examination procedures. For cases that have successfully registered for online examination on the "Central Eye Hospital" application, patients only need to go to the reception counter to be guided directly to the registered clinic.

The Central Eye Hospital also encourages people to use online examination registration to reduce waiting times and improve service efficiency. When needing support, people can contact phone number 0979 301 616 or text to the hospital's official Fanpage for detailed guidance.

In addition, patients are recommended to bring their citizen identification card, health insurance card and related documents when coming for examination to make the procedure process faster and more convenient.
