Ministry of Health appoints Director of Central Eye Hospital
On the afternoon of March 10, at the appointment ceremony held at the Central Eye Hospital, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan emphasized that Dr. Pham Ngoc Dong is a well-trained and well-organized cadre. After graduating as a doctor in 1992, he continued to study hard and received his PhD in medicine in 2009, and was recognized by the State Council for the title of Associate Professor of Medicine in 2019.
He has studied and worked at the Central Eye Hospital for more than 30 years, having held many positions in many different positions from treating physician, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Endocrinology Department to the position of Deputy Director in charge of expertise (from 2017), Deputy Director in charge of operations of the Central Eye Hospital (from May 2024 to present).

Proposal to have a second child with 7 months off, support for buying social housing
The Department of Population - Ministry of Health has advised the Ministry of Health to submit to the Government a proposal to develop a Population Law and a draft Population Law, proposing 3 major groups of policies: Maintaining replacement fertility; reducing gender imbalance at birth and bringing the sex ratio at birth to natural balance; improving population quality.

The draft law also proposes to allow female workers to extend maternity leave for 7 months instead of 6 months when giving birth to a second child; create conditions for women who give birth to 2 children in industrial parks, export processing zones and provinces and cities with low birth rates to be supported to rent and buy social housing. Vietnam has many rare cases of dragon worm infections
Information from Dang Van Ngu Hospital said that so far, Vietnam has recorded 24 cases of dragon worm infection.
The whole world currently only records a few dozen cases per year, commonly in African countries. In Vietnam, the disease has only appeared in recent years. This is one of the longest worms in the human body, from 70 to 120 cm.

From 2021 to present, our country has recorded 24 cases in 5 provinces and cities including Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa and Lao Cai. Notably, from the time of worm infection to symptoms is about 12 months, during which time the patient has no symptoms. See more
Saving a 4-year-old baby from swallowing an extremely dangerous foreign object
