On April 18, according to information from Dien Chau General Hospital, the unit is receiving and treating many cases with suspected food poisoning symptoms.
Previously, from the morning of April 17, the hospital began to receive patients with symptoms of vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea. By the evening of the same day, the number of patients increased rapidly. By the morning of April 18, more cases continued to be hospitalized, some people showed signs of high fever.
According to Dr. Hoang Thi Thanh Loan - Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dien Chau General Hospital, there are currently about 25 patients being treated. Among them, about 20 people said they had eaten bread at a bakery in Dien Chau commune.
Some remaining cases have used other foods such as cakes, mangoes, pineapples, stir-fried snails... so it is not possible to accurately identify the source of poisoning.
Currently, patients are being monitored and treated actively. Some cases have stabilized their health, but continued monitoring is still needed due to ongoing digestive symptoms.
Immediately after the incident occurred, functional agencies conducted an inspection of the suspected business establishment, and at the same time took food and specimens for testing to clarify the cause.
