However, due to its high content of citric acid, lemon water can cause irritation in people with stomach diseases. Experts say that drinking lemon water on an empty stomach or using too concentrated it can easily increase feelings of burning, heartburn and digestive discomfort.

Not only affecting the stomach, lemon juice also has the risk of affecting oral health. According to the British Dental Association, frequent exposure to acidic drinks can wear down tooth enamel over time, making teeth sensitive and easily aching.
