Ho Chi Minh City - Test results of a patient's fecal sample suspected of food poisoning at Dang Thuy Tram Elementary School, Salmonella spp. bacteria discovered.

Regarding the food poisoning incident at Dang Thuy Tram Elementary School, Tan Thuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City, on April 28, Children's Hospital 2 said that as of 3 pm on the same day, it had received 13 cases for examination.

Among them, one case is outpatient treatment, 12 cases are hospitalized for inpatient treatment. Currently, the health status of the patients is stable, and they are using intravenous antibiotics.

Notably, according to Children's Hospital 2, the results of fecal sample testing of a case detected Salmonella spp bacteria. This is a very common group of bacteria that cause digestive diseases, often related to food poisoning.

Previously, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, quick reports from some medical facilities from April 25 to noon on April 27, 4 hospitals in the city received a series of suspected cases of food poisoning at Dang Thuy Tram Elementary School.

A total of 25 cases were recorded with typical digestive disorder symptoms such as: abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, some cases accompanied by fever...

After receiving the information, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health directed all medical facilities to review the reception and treatment of patients related to epidemiological factors. At the same time, ensure reception, classification and treatment according to the correct food poisoning treatment protocol.
