In which, Nguyen Thi Thap Hospital has 13 student cases, Children's Hospital 2 has 9 student cases, Khanh Hoi Hospital has 1 student case; Gia Dinh People's Hospital has 2 adult cases (nannies).
Among the hospitalizations, 1 child when admitted to Children's Hospital 2 showed signs of high fever, severe dehydration with shock, convulsions, severe acidosis. After 1 day of intensive treatment (anti-shock, high vasopressure, mechanical ventilation), the child was awake, reduced fever, reduced loose stools, stopped vasopressure and stopped mechanical ventilation.
Currently, the cases have stable clinical conditions, are examined, monitored and treated promptly. Most cases are being treated as inpatients (23/25 cases).
After receiving the information, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health directed all medical facilities to review the reception and treatment of patients related to epidemiological factors. At the same time, ensure reception, classification and treatment according to the correct food poisoning treatment protocol.
In case of serious cases, it is necessary to conduct a consultation or transfer to a higher-level hospital; implement a quick reporting regimen to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety, including the absorption situation, number of severe cases, microbiological results and complications (if any), to promptly coordinate and unify treatment regimens.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health recommends that people when they have signs of suspected food poisoning, absolutely do not self-treat at home with diarrhea control drugs or antibiotics without prescription.
When there are signs of continuous vomiting and diarrhea, go to a medical facility early. In addition, complying with treatment, and responding well to hydration and electrolytes will help the disease recover quickly.
