Khanh Hoa - Doctors have just successfully operated on a 67-year-old female patient with lumbar spinal stenosis due to multiple-stage disc hernia.

On September 1, news from Military Hospital 87 said that the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the hospital had just operated on a 67-year-old female patient diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis due to multiple-layered spinal disc hernia in layers L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5 and L5-S1.

Previously, the patient had back pain and prolonged numbness in both legs, affecting daily life. The condition did not improve after internal medicine treatment.

Faced with the above situation, the surgical team proceeded to relieve nerve compression, fix the spine with a screw system through the stem and weld the intervertebral bone. The surgery was performed with the support of the C-arm enhancing screen system.

After surgery, the patient's back pain is reduced, the numbness of both legs is reduced, mobility recovery is good and the quality of life is clearly improved.

According to Military Hospital 87, this is a specialized technique that requires high accuracy. The success of the surgery shows the professional capacity and ability to perform spinal surgery techniques of the team of doctors from the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

Through this, the hospital contributes to bringing effective and safe treatment solutions for patients.
