On December 30, Vung Tau General Hospital (Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that it had just continued to successfully operate on a case of severe multiple injuries due to a traffic accident, with professional support from Gia Dinh People's Hospital.
Previously, on December 28th, patient N.T.T (born in 2001, residing in Vung Tau ward) was admitted to the hospital in a state of multiple injuries. Clinical examination results showed many serious injuries such as: 1/3 fracture in the middle of the right femur, 1/3 fracture in the middle of the left clavix, along with complex injuries in the right wrist area (fracture of the tripod, rotating tripod, fracture of the tibia and fracture of many small fragments of the pyramid bone).
Recognizing that the multiple trauma case is complex and requires in-depth surgery, doctors from the General Surgery Department of Vung Tau General Hospital consulted and invited doctors from the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Gia Dinh People's Hospital to directly participate in professional support.
Through this, the surgical team led by BS.CKII Nguyen Le Minh Thong - Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Gia Dinh People's Hospital and doctors of Vung Tau General Hospital deployed the surgery safely and successfully. The injuries were treated appropriately, ensuring long-term mobility function for the patient. Currently, the patient continues to be monitored, cared for and treated post-operatively at the hospital with stable health condition and good prognosis of recovery.
Previously, on December 19, Vung Tau General Hospital also successfully operated on a case of severe multiple injuries due to a traffic accident, with the support of Gia Dinh People's Hospital.
The success of the surgery once again affirms the results of professional support cooperation from the upper level, as well as proactiveness in consultation and treatment of difficult and complex cases at Vung Tau General Hospital. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, serving the health care needs of people better and better.
