Experts believe that diet also contributes to skin care from the inside, especially adding vegetables to the daily menu.
According to BS.CKI Nguyen Tran Nhu Thuy, University Medical Center Hospital, Campus 3, Ho Chi Minh City, many types of vegetables contain high levels of water, fiber, vitamins and minerals, helping the body feel lighter in the hot season, while supporting skin health.
Among them, winter melon is a familiar food often used to cook cooling soup. This fruit contains a lot of water, suitable for hot days. However, doctors advise against abusing raw winter melon juice, especially in people with weak digestive systems.
Green bean sprouts are also a popular choice because they are rich in water and fiber. This food makes meals cooler and supports digestion. However, pregnant women, young children and people with weak resistance should prioritize using cooked bean sprouts to ensure safety.
White radish contains vitamin C, fiber and a lot of water, often appearing in soups and stewed dishes. According to experts, this is a suitable food in a healthy diet but should not be expected to have the effect of "whitening skin" as advertised many times.
In addition, potatoes and peas also contribute to supplementing energy, fiber and vitamins for the body. Experts recommend prioritizing boiling, steaming or cooking soup instead of frying with a lot of grease.
BS.CKI Nguyen Tran Nhu Thuy said that vegetables are only a part of the skin care process in hot weather. To maintain healthy skin, people need to drink enough water, sunscreen, get enough sleep, limit sugary foods and do not arbitrarily use whitening products of unknown origin.
If the skin develops prolonged irritation, many acne spots or abnormal peeling, people should go for examination for appropriate advice instead of self-treatment at home.
