The number of people with flu is increasing
The Hue City Center for Disease Control (CDC) said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, the city has recorded nearly 300 cases of influenza. In particular, Hue Central Hospital is treating cases of underlying diseases, severe conditions requiring oxygen.
According to Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital Hoang Thi Lan Huong, the rate of patients hospitalized at the facility due to the flu after Tet increased.
With the worrying mentality, the demand for influenza vaccination among Hue people is increasing. Some vaccination facilities in the area have recorded a shortage of influenza vaccines such as the VNVC Vaccination Center system at all 3 facilities in Hue City.
At the Hue City Center for Disease Control, the number of people vaccinated against influenza in recent days has increased by 7-8 times compared to normal. Data as of January 10, 888 doses of flu vaccine have been vaccinated, twice as much as the same period in 2024. Currently, the unit still has about 300 doses and flu vaccine bottles produced in the Netherlands, France and South Korea.
Ready medicine for people
Recorded in the past 3 days, there have been 16/91 suspected cases of influenza at the hospital tested positive (7 cases of influenza A and 9 cases of influenza B); including two cases of pneumonia, old age and underlying disease. The testing process showed that most patients with influenza A had antipods H1, H3 and influenza B/Victoria.
Faced with the above situation, Hue Central Hospital requested to strengthen prevention and control of influenza, measles and respiratory diseases. Centers, departments, and units are vigilant for cases with symptoms of cough, fever, and shortness of breath to detect early and isolate promptly; closely monitor severe patients, patients in resuscitation areas and high-risk groups; report infectious cases for timely monitoring and response.
The hospital strengthens environmental sanitation, ensures surface hygiene, and disinfects areas at high risk of infection. People are advised to wear masks and clean regularly with soap and antibacterial solutions when in the hospital grounds, especially in areas with high risk of infection. The departments increase ventilation; limit crowded gatherings in closed spaces. Hue Central Hospital has prepared medicine, medical equipment, and personnel to ensure admission and treatment of cases when necessary.
