Heavy walking, body easily tired
Normally, walking brings a feeling of lightness and comfort. But when the kidneys are poorly functioning, the body may be tired and abnormally weak. Even short distances can make you feel heavy and quickly exhausted. This feeling of fatigue is not due to muscle pain, but to weakness from within the body. Many people also experience difficulty concentrating or forgetfulness - indirect signs that kidney function is declining.
Kidneys are like the body's filters, responsible for eliminating waste and excess water, regulating electrolytes and maintaining blood pressure. When kidneys are weak, waste and water accumulate in the body, causing circulatory disorders and making the heart work harder. Walking requires the heart to pump enough blood and oxygen for the whole body, so when circulation is poor, you will easily feel heavy and tired.
Swelling legs, uncomfortable walking
Another early sign of kidney failure is leg swelling. When the kidneys do not excrete excess water well, water will accumulate, especially in the lower limb, causing swollen ankles and calves. This condition is usually more obvious at the end of the day or after standing or walking for a long time; may be better when resting but will gradually worsen if not treated.
Kidney disease can also cause protein loss through urine. When protein is deficient, the pressure to retain water in blood vessels decreases, causing water to drain out of tissues, making edema worse, causing pain and difficulty walking.
Symptoms such as heavy walking, rapid fatigue, or swollen legs should not be taken lightly. If these signs appear frequently, you should see a doctor to check kidney function early. In addition, maintaining a healthy lifestyle - eating reasonably, exercising moderately, not smoking, limiting alcohol and regular health check-ups are important ways to protect kidneys and health for a long time.
