The patient is Mr. Nguyen Van Tam (born 1987, residing in Thang Binh commune, Da Nang city), working on fishing vessel QNa 94464 TS.
The ship has 42 crew members, departing from Tam Quang fishing port, Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city on May 6, 2026 to practice squid fishing in Truong Sa fishing grounds.
The captain is Mr. Pham Phu Thuan (born in 1984, from Thang An commune, Da Nang city).
About 4 days before being admitted to the hospital, the patient developed abdominal pain, vomiting, hot and cold fever and abdominal distension.
On May 27, the patient was taken to Thuyen Chai D Island Medical Center in a state of alertness, good contact, mild fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius, abdominal pain.
Through examination, doctors diagnosed the patient with intestinal infection, deteriorating health and needing to limit eating and drinking.
Although his blood pressure was stable and he was still walking normally, it was determined that the patient needed to be transferred ashore for further monitoring and intensive treatment.
On May 29, Brigade 955 mobilized Truong Sa 20 ship to urgently maneuver to Thuyen Chai D island to receive the patient.
As soon as the ship docked, Colonel Do Van Son - Political Commissar of Brigade 955 directly visited, encouraged and chaired the signing of the patient handover minutes to the family. After that, the patient was transferred to Treatment Team 486, Naval Region 4 to continue examination, monitoring and treatment.
