In a rapid beer drinking competition at the company, a young man collapsed after drinking a liter of beer as requested. When the incident happened, many colleagues around were shocked. After that, people came to check and discovered that he had died on the spot.
Immediately afterwards, a video of a young man dying in a beer drinking competition spread across media and social networks, causing great controversy.
Specifically in the video, the host asked the contestants to raise their cups. The victim finished drinking his beer in less than 30 seconds - luckily he lifted his glass and then fainted a few seconds later. People at the scene said that when he fell, he suffered continuous convulsions and beer flowing from his nose and mouth.
The cause of the young man's death is still under investigation. Many hypotheses predict that the cause of death was alcohol poisoning, but the evidence is not enough to conclude.
"He died immediately after drinking beer, but we cannot conclude that the cause was alcohol poisoning. We have to see if the victim is allergic to any special substances, whether he has an underlying disease or is drinking on an empty stomach," the authorities said.
What is alcohol poisoning?
Alcohol poisoning is a serious condition when you drink a large amount of alcoholic beverages in a short period of time. Drinking too much and too quickly can affect breathing, heart rate, body temperature, throat reflux and most seriously lead to coma and death.
Alcohol poisoning can also occur when adults or children accidentally or intentionally drink alcohol-containing products that require immediate emergency care.
Some common signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning:
- Confusion
- vomiting
- Seizures
- Slow breathing (less than eight breaths a minute)
- Irregular breathing (the distance between breathing ranges is more than 10 seconds)
- Blue or pale skin
- Low body temperature (hyperatrophy)
- Loss of consciousness
