As of 5:00 PM on August 27th, An Khe Medical Center statistics showed that a total of 248 patients came for examination and treatment with suspected symptoms of food poisoning such as abdominal pain, vomiting, fatigue...
Among them, 4 cases were transferred to higher levels for treatment; 218 people were hospitalized; 56 people were discharged; and the remaining 158 patients are continuing treatment.
An Khe Ward People's Committee said that there are currently no test results of specimens and food samples sent out. When there are results, functional agencies will widely inform. The owner of the bread shop is being suspended from business operations, waiting for conclusions and handling from functional agencies.
The incident of many people eating bread suspected of causing food poisoning has caused public uproar, outrage and affected community health.
The Food Safety Department requested the Gia Lai Department of Health to direct specialized units to urgently organize epidemiological investigations and trace the origin of food to determine the cause and suspected cause of poisoning.
The investigation and handling of organizations and individuals violating food safety regulations, if any, must be strictly implemented in accordance with legal regulations. The results of investigation and handling are also required to be made public to promptly warn and prevent risks to the community.
In the period from August 23 to August 24, 2026, 78 cases of people buying mixed bread (including pate, cold cuts, floss, sausage, herbs, cucumbers, chili powder, egg butter sauce, soy sauce, braised pork) at Bin Bin Business Household were recorded to be used and showed symptoms of suspected poisoning.
