On August 25, the People's Committee of An Khe ward, Gia Lai province, had an initial report on a suspected food poisoning case in the area.
Accordingly, the Ward People's Committee suspects that a food poisoning incident occurred due to the use of bread products produced by Bin Bin Business Household, located in An Khe ward.
In the period from August 23 to August 24, 2026, 78 cases of people buying mixed banh mi (including pate, cold cuts, floss, sausage, herbs, cucumbers, chili powder, egg butter sauce, soy sauce, braised pork) at Bin Bin Business Household were recorded to be used and had symptoms of poisoning.
Patients successively showed symptoms such as abdominal cramps, diarrhea, vomiting many times, fever and sporadically came to An Khe Medical Center for treatment.
According to information provided by Mr. N.V.K. (owner of Bin Bin Business Household), on average, each day, the business household supplies about 200 loaves of bread of all kinds to the market.
An Khe Ward People's Committee has requested Bin Bin Business Household to temporarily suspend operations for investigation, verification and handling according to regulations.
At the same time, functional agencies sent food samples and specimens to the testing unit to find the cause of food poisoning.
Among the 78 bread-eating people who had to be hospitalized, there were no deaths. Currently, the health of the patients is stable, there are no cases with severe prognosis. Notably, An Khe Medical Center continues to record more cases of patients coming for examination and treatment with similar symptoms, suspected of being due to eating bread from Bin Bin shop causing food poisoning.
Currently, the case is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
