Health status of victims of fire that killed 5 people in Hanoi

The fire at a 4-story house at No. 2B, alley 264/2 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho ward (Hanoi) killed 5 people and hospitalized 3 others.

Two patients continue to receive intensive care.

Talking about the health status of patients being treated, Dr. Tran Quoc Thang, Deputy Head of the Emergency Resuscitation Department, Military Hospital 354, said that patient T.H.M. T (born in 1989) suffered from severe CO poisoning, and it is necessary to continue monitoring respiratory burns and other injuries.

According to Dr. Thang, patient T has been actively treated, given emergency resuscitation and applied specific treatment measures, including hyperbaric oxygen. However, the patient's condition is still severe. The prognosis depends on the patient's response.

Regarding the female patient, Dr. Thang informed that this person jumped from the 4th floor to the corrugated iron roof on the 2nd floor, at a height of about 3 m. The patient suffered chest trauma and pneumothorax, these are life-threatening injuries.

In addition to chest trauma, doctors conducted abdominal examinations and other organs. Initial assessments showed no significant lesions in these organs. However, the patient still needs to continue to be monitored for CO poisoning.

Previously, 3 people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment after the fire. One child has stable health and has been discharged from the hospital.

5 people died in the fire

Previously, at about 1:50 am on September 16, people discovered a fire at a 4-story house at No. 2B, alley 264/2 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho ward (Hanoi). The fire quickly engulfed the house, trapping some people inside.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police force of Hanoi City Police mobilized vehicles and nearly 40 officers and soldiers to the scene. Tay Ho Ward Police and local authorities were also mobilized to coordinate firefighting and organize rescue.

The house where the fire occurred is 4 floors high, with an area of about 60 m2 per floor.

The fire commander immediately directed reconnaissance teams to use specialized breathing tubes to approach each floor for search and rescue. At the same time, firefighting teams were deployed to control the fire, preventing it from spreading to the upper floors as well as to adjacent houses.

By about 2:30 am, the fire was basically under control. By about 2:45 am, the fire was completely extinguished.

During the search, functional forces discovered 5 victims who had died at the scene and handed them over to medical forces for handling according to regulations.

Currently, functional agencies are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire and related details.

Ministry of Health requests focus on rescuing victims of Tay Ho fire

The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) requests Military Hospital 354 to focus maximum resources to rescue victims of the fire in alley 2B Van Cao, Tay Ho ward, Hanoi, which killed 5 people.

In a document sent to Military Hospital 354, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requested the hospital to mobilize human resources, medicine and medical equipment, urgently treat severe cases, and minimize the risk of death.

The hospital is required to closely coordinate with functional agencies of Hanoi City in response work, and at the same time proactively propose solutions to ensure emergency care and treatment for victims.

In necessary cases, Military Hospital 354 coordinates professionally with upper-level medical examination and treatment facilities and performs referrals promptly and appropriately to the patient's condition.
