To ensure the rights of health insurance participants, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance has deployed a review and converted the initial place of registration for medical examination and treatment for previous health insurance cards registered at some regional health centers.
Accordingly, people registering at Cho Lon Regional Health Center (code 79015) are transferred to the initial medical examination and treatment registration place, An Binh Hospital (code 79012), Nguyen Trai Hospital (code 79014) for cases >16 years old; People registering at Hoa Hung Regional Health Center (code 79027) are transferred to the initial medical examination and treatment registration place, Trung Vuong Hospital (code 79026).
For children < 16 years old who previously had health insurance and registered for medical examination and treatment at health centers that stopped operating, they will be transferred to Lanh Binh Thang Hospital (code 79028); People who register at Nhieu Loc Regional Health Center (code 79009) will be transferred to Gia Dinh People's Hospital facility 2 (code 79001); People who register at Can Gio Regional Health Center will be transferred to Tu Du Hospital facility 2 (code 79831).
In case health insurance participants wish to register for initial medical examination and treatment at another suitable facility and are still able to receive it, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance will create conditions to resolve it until March 31, 2026.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance also requests health insurance medical examination and treatment facilities to continue to receive and perform medical examination and treatment for people coming for examination at general and specialized clinics under the Regional Health Center that have been handed over to the Health Station from January 1, 2026, during the time the Health Stations complete the procedures for adjusting and re-issuing operating licenses according to regulations. During this time, people with health insurance cards when coming for medical examination and treatment at ward, commune, special zone health centers and general clinics under the old regional health center will still enjoy the health insurance regime and benefits for medical examination and treatment as prescribed.
Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance affirmed that it will continue to closely coordinate with the Department of Health and medical examination and treatment facilities to ensure the legitimate rights of health insurance participants, contributing to maintaining stability and continuity in people's health care in the city.
