Periodic, free health check-ups are becoming the starting point for the journey of health management through the life cycle - one of the major orientations of Resolution 72-NQ/TW.
Examination to know - know to prevent - prevent to live healthy". That is not only the message of the periodic, free health check-up program being implemented in Cau Giay ward, but also shows a change in the approach to health care: from focusing on treatment when diseases appear to proactively preventing diseases, early detection and long-term health management. This is also a way to concretize the orientation of prioritizing disease prevention, people are the center in health care according to Resolution 72-NQ/TW.
Examination for early detection
From July 2026, Cau Giay ward will implement periodic and free health check-ups for target groups according to the plan. About 5,965 people from group 1 and group 5 have registered and completed check-ups in July. For children and students under 18 years old, the whole ward has about 28,818 people undergoing check-ups according to the plan; as of September 18, 2026, health check-ups have been completed for more than 99% of students from educational institutions in the area.
Each examination is not only aimed at determining "is there a disease or not", but also towards early detection of risks, counseling care and appropriate health monitoring guidance.
Cau Giay Ward Health Station focuses on organizing scientific examinations, from receiving, streaming, arranging personnel to preparing equipment for examination, testing and diagnostic imaging.
MSc. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan - Member of the Executive Committee of the Ward Party Committee, Director of Cau Giay Ward Health Station, Chairman of the Club of Directors of TYTs under Hanoi City said that the important thing after each examination session is that people know clearly their health status and are guided on the next steps. In case of disease detection, they will be consulted, guided on treatment or transferred when necessary. For people who have not yet been diagnosed, doctors guide how to care for, monitor and proactively prevent disease. Therefore, one examination session does not only stop at the results, but becomes the starting point for a long-term health care process.
From "free examination" to "health book
Resolution 72-NQ/TW orients a strong shift from focusing on treatment to proactive disease prevention, comprehensive and continuous health care according to the life cycle. In Cau Giay, each examination is contributing more data to the process of monitoring people's health, gradually moving towards proactive health management and forming electronic health records.
A student is detected early with health problems. An elderly person is identified with a risk of chronic disease. A resident is advised to change their lifestyle before the disease appears. Each case detected early is an additional opportunity to prevent the disease and live healthy lives.
From today's examinations, a new approach is gradually forming: not waiting for the disease to come to cure, but proactively preventing diseases early, managing health from the grassroots level and accompanying people throughout their lives.
