At many stores and shops, people bring goods and items out to dry, clean and rearrange them. Some businesses have to spend time cleaning the floor, checking the electrical system and equipment before resuming operation.
In residential areas, many households are busy collecting mud and stagnant water, and at the same time moving items that have been placed high to avoid flooding into the original location. Electrical equipment and household items damaged by water seepage are taken by people for inspection and repair.
Notably, at some car garages in the area, many flooded vehicles have been brought to inspect and fix problems. Technicians are urgently checking engines, electrical systems and parts at risk of damage due to water intrusion.
Previously, on September 19, prolonged heavy rain caused a series of roads in Vinh urban area to be locally flooded. In some locations, water rose and flooded into people's houses, causing difficulties for travel, living and business.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Truong Vinh Ward People's Committee said that on September 19, the locality suffered a very heavy rain, causing many streets to be locally flooded, water flooded into people's houses, affecting the lives and property of households.
During heavy rain and after the rain ended, local authorities mobilized functional forces to be on duty in deeply flooded areas, organized to clear sewers, support drainage and guide people to move safely.
By the morning of September 20, when the water basically receded completely, the forces continued to coordinate with the people to clean up the environment, collect mud, garbage and overcome the consequences, gradually stabilizing life and restoring business operations.
