Following the success of the job fair for young doctors completing the 18-month practical training program at the hospital attached to the medical station in 2023, on August 2, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health organized the first job fair. Monday.
After practicing at Thu Duc Regional General Hospital and Tam Phu Ward Medical Station (Thu Duc City), Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Binh decided to stay long-term with the station. This is one of three young doctors who decided to join medical stations during this year's job fair for young doctors.
“After practicing, I found the working environment at the medical station very good so I wanted to work here. Although at the medical station there will not be as many in-depth learning opportunities as at higher level hospitals, I think I will be able to develop in the field of community health," Dr. Thai Binh shared.
53 medical facilities participated in the festival with more than 370 job positions. On August 2, 143 young doctors were recruited, of which 51 doctors chose to work at the grassroots medical level.
Young doctor Mao Quang Vinh said that the practice period at People's Hospital 115 and Le Minh Xuan commune medical station (Binh Chanh district) is a valuable experience for medical students.
“The practice rotation between the medical center and the city hospital has helped me consolidate and improve the professional knowledge required of a general practitioner; Improve community-oriented health care capacity, disease prevention capacity, and especially social activity capacity" - said Dr. Vinh.
Doctor Hoang Van Cuong - Director of District 8 Medical Center, which has just recruited 8 doctors, said - this is a positive sign, because in the past very few doctors were willing to return to the grassroots level. The fact that district medical centers are "sluggish" and lack human resources is gradually being overcome.
In remote districts such as Can Gio, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, recruitment is more difficult.
Hoc Mon district medical center also could not recruit more human resources at the festival. However, according to Dr. Ngo Cao Dung - Deputy Director of the District Medical Center - this is an opportunity for doctors to approach and understand more about the center, so hopefully someone will come to apply later.
As a recruitment facility that meets its quota in just 30 minutes, Children's Hospital 1 received 3 doctors to work in the Quality Management Department.
Evaluating this 18-month practical training program, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong said that the practice rotation between medical centers, clinics and hospitals has helped young doctors improve their skills. strengthen and improve professional knowledge and community health care capacity.
The program "Pilot practical training at hospitals attached to medical stations" was approved by the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022. This is also the first locality in the country to have a policy to support young doctors who have just practiced. at a medical station, and just apprenticed at a general hospital.
