Receiving information about the Resolution, Ms. Do Thi Thi (Vinh Hung ward, Hanoi) expressed her expectations. According to Ms. Thi, at an old age, and suffering from many underlying diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, being monitored and examined for health right at the ward health station will help patients more conveniently in treatment, reduce travel distance and reduce the burden on their families.
If in the coming time the ward health station is coordinated with central-level hospitals, with more modern equipment for examination, our travel will be much easier," Ms. Thi shared.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Lua - Director of Vinh Hung Ward Health Station, Resolution 72 is expected to create fundamental solutions for grassroots healthcare, especially strengthening coordination between health stations and upper-level doctors.
Currently, Vinh Hung ward health station is being supported by Hanoi Medical University Hospital in activities such as vaccination, chronic disease management, education and health communication for the community. Along with that, the station is gradually being supplemented with equipment, emergency vehicles, ambulances and arranged 24/24h on-duty personnel to promptly handle emergency situations for people in the area.
This is a practical direction, both helping to improve the professional capacity of grassroots healthcare and creating conditions for people to receive adequate and close health care right in their place of residence," Dr. Lua emphasized.
Also according to Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Lua, commune and ward health stations are grassroots health levels, responsible for primary health care, preventive medicine, basic medical examination and treatment, community health management, vaccination, population work and food safety, playing the role of "gatekeeper" of the health system. However, the current reality shows that Vinh Hung ward health station only has 2 doctors, the rest are nurses, so professional capacity as well as equipment operation capacity are still limited.
Over the past time, thanks to the coordination with Hanoi Medical University Hospital, the station has been supported with more modern machinery, with highly qualified doctors directly participating in examination and treatment, thereby attracting more and more people to visit. We expect Resolution 72 to continue to create conditions for grassroots health workers to be trained and improve their qualifications, contributing to reducing the load on the upper level," said Dr. Lua.
When Resolution 72 is implemented synchronously, grassroots healthcare will be strongly invested in human resources and equipment, helping ward and commune health stations promote the "gatekeeper" role of the health system. This not only reduces pressure on upper-level hospitals, but also meets the needs of convenient and effective healthcare for people, especially the elderly and chronic patients.
