Request to stop the operation of job-seeking health clinics in Can Tho after Lao Dong's reflection

Can Tho - Regarding the "super-fast" job search health check case that Lao Dong Newspaper reflected, the City Department of Health requested Ngoc Thach General Clinic to stop operating.

On the evening of September 15, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Quoc Cuong - Director of Can Tho City Department of Health - responded to Lao Dong reporters regarding the results of handling press information reflected.

Accordingly, on September 14, the surprise inspection team conducted an inspection at Ngoc Thach General Clinic under Ngoc Thach General Clinic Joint Stock Company (address 187, Le Hong Phong, Thoi An Dong ward, Can Tho city).

As a result of verification, the clinic self-declared the facility eligible for health examination according to Circular No. 14/2013/TT-BYT. The Department of Health has an Official Dispatch on this clinic announcing the medical examination and treatment facility eligible for health examination according to Circular No. 14/2013/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health.

However, at the time of inspection, the unit had not updated the announcement that the facility was eligible for health check-ups according to the provisions of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP.

Regarding facilities and equipment, specialized clinics are arranged, including: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology and X-ray Room. However, at the time of inspection, only the Internal Clinic was operating.

Regarding personnel, the clinic has not promptly updated the list of registered practicing at the clinic when there are changes according to the provisions of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP.

The clinic has a health check-up process on Saturdays and Sundays every week according to the staff participating in specialized check-ups only working on Saturdays and Sundays. But at the time of inspection, Ngoc Thach General Clinic performs health check-ups all days of the week.

Regarding the management of health check-up records, health check-up results are not kept and have not been updated on the electronic information portal as prescribed.

Regarding the handling results, the Can Tho City Department of Health requested Ngoc Thach General Clinic to stop health check-up activities from September 14, 2026 until it is approved to meet the health check-up conditions of the Department of Health according to regulations.

The Department also urgently issued documents to rectify health check-ups in Can Tho City to ensure compliance with legal regulations on health check-ups.

Along with that, continue to review and update the list of establishments that have announced that they are eligible for health check-ups in the city posted on the website of the Department of Health.

Also on September 15, the Can Tho Department of Health issued a document on recalling the announcement of eligible health examination facilities sent to Ngoc Thach General Clinic.

The Department requests the leaders of this clinic to be fully responsible before the law for the health check-up results according to legal regulations.
