On the first afternoon of October in Lang Son, the circulation of storm No. 10 has just passed, and the mud is still thick and thick on the branches and grasses.
After school, Nong Quynh Tho, a student of class 4A at Hoang Viet Primary School (Na Sam commune, Lang Son province) quickly walked home.
In an old level 4 house in village 5, Na Sam commune, the grandmother and a few neighbors are busy helping the under ten-year-old girl prepare lunch, because for many days now, her mother has had to stay in the hospital to take care of her father.

Teacher Hoang Kim Le, a teacher of class 4A at Hoang Viet Primary School, choked up as she shared: Quynh Tho is a good, gentle student and very hard-working. My family is near-poor. Her mother is a freelancer, who would mind if she was hired to do anything, her income was unstable.
However, a big incident suddenly occurred when her father, the main breadwinner in the house, had just had a serious accident, suffered a traumatic brain injury, and had to be treated for a long time in the hospital.
According to Ms. Le, in recent days, the image of a father lying motionless on a hospital bed, next to a thin mother and a girl Quynh Tho quietly holding her father's hand, has stopped anyone witnessing it.
"Even when my father had an accident, I still tried to go to class. But my eyes are always strained, worried about my family. I truly love you and hope that kind-hearted people will help, said Ms. Le.
In stunned eyes, Quynh Tho whispered: "I just wish my father would recover soon so he could go home. I also want to continue going to school. When I grow up, I will go to work to help my parents.
That simple dream makes listeners even more excited.
Ms. Hoang Thi Thoi - Principal of Hoang Viet Primary School - also shared: "During many years of working, I have encountered many difficult circumstances, but Quynh Tho's case is truly a pity".
According to the school representative, the Board of Directors is mobilizing teachers, parents and students to join hands to support.
"However, the cost of treatment is too high, we hope to receive support from the community and benefactors so that your family can overcome this stage. I just hope Tho's studies are not interrupted halfway due to difficulties," said Ms. Thoi.
Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Secretary of the Na Sam Commune Party Committee, expressed: "Nong Quynh Tho's family is near-poor, the economy is already difficult and is now even more at a standstill when the pillar is in trouble. Local authorities have visited and encouraged, but resources are limited.
We sincerely hope that the community will join hands so that Tho can continue to go to school and nurture her dream of studying.
