Representatives of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund and the An Giang Provincial Red Cross Society recently visited and presented donations from readers of Lao Dong Newspaper to the disadvantaged in the communes of Chau Thanh, Tay Yen, Vinh Hoa, Vinh Phong. In this period, readers from near and far have supported 4 situations with money, helping them gain more confidence and motivation to overcome difficulties.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dang (born in 1988), residing in Dap Da 2 Hamlet, Vinh Phong Commune, and his wife, Ms. Tran Thi Lieu (born in 1995), are characters in the article "Spending every penny to work for hire, the husband struggles to take care of his wife with cancer and child with cerebral palsy" published in Lao Dong newspaper.

Living through the day with a hired job, whoever hired them to do it is unstable, with an average low income of only a few tens of thousands of VND per day, sometimes not. In 2016, the first son Nguyen Van Hoang Huy was born. The joy did not last long before they learned that Huy had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. left-sidedness has not stopped for a small family when not long ago, Ms. Lieu was diagnosed with cancer and needed long-term treatment at a huge cost. Having money and clothes, taking care of children is already difficult, but adding to his wife's terrible illness makes Mr. Dang even more struggling.

Receiving more than 8 million VND in support from readers, Mr. Dang shared: I am very happy to have local support to build a house, now there are more readers from Lao Dong Newspaper to help. I have to go to Ho Chi Minh City for a follow-up examination and treatment, but the conditions are not good, so I plan to use this money to take my wife to the provincial hospital for examination, to reduce the cost of traveling far away."

As for the situation of Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Huyen (born in 1992), residing in Roc La hamlet, Tay Yen commune, in the article "Mother single-parent fighting cancer raising children to study" after 2 rounds of support from readers, Huyen received nearly 15 million VND. Despite the hardships and pain of cancer, the mother still tries to be both a father and a mother to take care of her son's education.

Huyen shared: When I encountered adversity that was very difficult to overcome, I received a lot of attention, sharing, and help from everyone. This support makes me feel very happy and emotional, as if I am more encouraged mentally to try to overcome difficulties.

During this period, other circumstances also received support from readers: Ms. Thi Quy (born in 1957) lives in Chau Thanh commune in the article "The house burned down, the old man was weak and struggled to raise 3 young grandchildren"; Ms. Tran Thi Tu lives in Vinh Hoa commune in the article "74-year-old woman carries the burden of raising her children and grandchildren".

Also visiting and giving money to the characters, the representative of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Phong commune also said that the helpful contributions from readers of the newspaper and kind-hearted people from near and far have helped the difficult lives in the area.
