Just returning to school after the summer vacation, Ms. Dang Thi Lien (39 years old, English teacher - Phuc Trach Primary School branch 2) continues to stay in her familiar room at Huong Lien boarding house (belonging to the old Huong Lien commune, now Phuc Trach commune).
Ms. Lien said that for the past 2 years, this room has helped her have a place to rest at noon to continue teaching in the afternoon.
Ms. Lien's house is in Huong Pho commune, about 25 km from her workplace. This is a rather long distance, and mainly winding mountain roads with many passes, making travel difficult.
Ms. Lien should have stayed in the dormitory. However, because the children are still young, she has to go home in the evening to tutor her children in their homework and help with housework.
During the rainy and storm season, traveling is dangerous and I can't go home, so I have this room to stay. I am very grateful to the Golden Heart Charity Fund and the Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation for sponsoring the construction of this very practical and meaningful boarding house" - Ms. Lien shared.
Ms. Lien's room is spacious, clean, with a closed bathroom, very convenient for living.
Also a teacher at Phuc Trach Primary School branch 2, teacher Nguyen Quang Hop (54 years old) - said that he has been arranged a semi-boarding room at Huong Lien boarding house for 2 years.
According to Mr. Hop, boarding houses have sufficient facilities and guaranteed living conditions. Thanks to that, teachers can feel secure in eating, living, resting and working.
The Huong Lien dormitory project is truly very practical and meaningful. The project helps many officials and teachers have boarding and semi-boarding accommodation, convenient for living, resting and working peacefully in this difficult area" - teacher Hop shared.
The dormitory project for workers, civil servants, and laborers in Huong Lien commune (old) has a total investment of more than 2.76 billion VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Charity Fund sponsored 2.2 billion VND; Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation countered more than 562 million VND.
The project has a construction area of 362 m2 on an area of 1,678 m2. The dormitory house includes 10 rooms, including 4 closed rooms; 1 kitchen; 2 bathrooms and a common toilet area including 2 rooms for men, 2 rooms for women.
The project was inaugurated and put into use from July 2022. In the first year, there were 22 people who were teachers, staff of the commune health station and commune officials staying in boarding and semi-boarding here.
After the process of merging communes, medical facilities, educational institutions and ending the rotation and assignment of officials and teachers, the demand for boarding houses has fluctuated.
However, the project is still evaluated as practical and effective. The dormitory has helped many people working far from home have boarding and semi-boarding accommodation, convenient for work and living.
Mr. Dang Khanh Tung - Vice Principal of Phuc Trach Primary School branch 2 - said that in recent years, thanks to Huong Lien boarding house, many teachers of the school have boarding and semi-boarding places to feel secure in their work.
