Practical school, boarding house
Lao Dong Newspaper, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund (Fund) has just coordinated with the People's Committee of Huong Khe district to inaugurate a 2-storey, 4-room school building for Huong Lien Kindergarten, built with the Fund's sponsorship.
This is a project with a total cost of more than 4 billion VND, which started in November 2023. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund sponsored 2.8 billion VND (70% of the project value), the remaining 30% of the cost was invested by the People's Committee of Huong Khe district using the counterpart budget.
Currently, the project serves 4 classes, each class has about 25 students, to replace the previous grade 4 school building which was degraded, leaky, and unsafe for teachers and students.
A few hundred steps from Huong Lien Kindergarten, in 2022, the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund also sponsored the construction of the Huong Lien Commune Boarding House with a total cost of 2.8 billion VND.Of which, the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund sponsored 2.2 billion VND, the remaining 600 million VND was matched by the investor, the Ha Tinh Provincial Labor Federation.
The project consists of 10 rooms with bathrooms, toilets, kitchens... completed and put into use from the end of 2022, meeting the boarding needs of many cadres and teachers working away from home in remote and difficult areas of Huong Lien commune.

Ms. Tran Thi Tham (born in 1986, residing in village 3, Huong Lien commune) has a 5-year-old child studying at Huong Lien Kindergarten, excitedly sharing: “This new school year, my child will be able to study in a new building sponsored by the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund, so I am very happy. I feel completely secure when there is a new, spacious, clean school building to replace the old, dilapidated, leaky, unsafe building. As a parent, I thank the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund for sponsoring the construction of this very practical project.”
At Huong Lien Commune Boarding House, after a few summer months of returning home to Quang Binh province to rest, at the end of the summer, teacher Dinh Thi Hang Mo (28 years old, teacher at Huong Lien Primary School) returned to school, back to the boarding room sponsored and built by the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund.
The boarding house is right next to the school fence, so every day it is only a few steps for Ms. Mo to go to class, return to her room to eat, and rest very conveniently.
“The dormitory is wonderful for me. For the past 2 years, thanks to the dormitory, it has been very convenient for me to work and have a family life when I bring my young child to stay with me,” Ms. Mo shared.
Mr. Ngo Xuan Ninh - Chairman of Huong Khe District People's Committee - said that in recent years, Huong Khe District has received a lot of attention, support and sponsorship from Lao Dong Newspaper, from the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund, from supporting flood recovery to building schools and boarding houses.

That support and sponsorship has contributed to helping Huong Khe district improve its facilities and promote better and better educational development,” Mr. Ninh shared.
