With the victory over Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells 2026 final, Sinner has won all major titles on hard court, including: Six ATP Masters 1000, Nitto ATP Finals, Australian Open and US Open tournaments. Only Federer and Djokovic have done the same.
Andre Agassi has won all five Masters 1000 tournaments held on hard courts in his career: Indian Wells, Miami, Canada, Cincinnati and Madrid. The American player has also won two hard court Grand Slams and the Nitto ATP Finals.
Federer completed his collection at the 2014 Rolex Shanghai Masters at the age of 33 and Djokovic completed his collection at the 2018 Cincinnati Open at the age of 31. Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner completed his record on hard courts at the age of 24.
Sinner won his first Masters 1000 title in 2023 in Toronto and has won all titles on hard court at the highest level in less than three years since then.
The Italian player won 22 consecutive sets at the Masters 1000 tournaments, the second long winning streak in the tournament's history (since 1990). Djokovic won 24 consecutive sets at the Masters 1000 tournaments from the second round of the 2016 BNP Paribas Open to the second round of the Rolex Masters in the same year, and Alcaraz won 21 consecutive sets from the second round of the 2023 BNP Paribas Open to the semi-finals of the Miami Open in the same year.
Sinner has shown outstanding form since the end of last season, when he won the last three tournaments in 2025, Vienna, Paris and ATP Finals and only lost one set in 15 matches at those tournaments. After that, the Italian player lost a five-set semi-final to Djokovic at the Australian Open in 2026 and in the quarterfinals in Doha before coming to Indian Wells.
Sinner's victory ended the revival of Medvedev, another excellent hardcourt player, who won the title in Dubai before coming to Indian Wells. Medvedev was stranded in Dubai due to the Middle East conflict with his Russian compatriots Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov. His arrival at Indian Wells, after stops in Istanbul and Los Angeles, was a miracle for Medvedev.
